Materials:
- 3 pieces of gimp 5 feet each
- 1 piece of gimp 9 feet long
- 1 key ring
Directions:
1. Thread the 3 shorter pieces of gimp through the ring; fasten
them down
at their centers with a piece of tape. thread the long piece through at
right angles to the others as shown and tape it down at its center, too.
Remove the tape after step 8. The tornado stitch is identical to the six
strand zipper pull stitch, with 2 additional ends.
2. Take the longest piece and fold over to form the guidelines.
Keep them parallel; do not allow them to cross.
3. Place piece A over the first guideline and under the second
guideline.
4. Place piece B over the first guideline and under the second
guideline.
5. Place piece C over the first guideline and under the second
guideline.
6. Place piece D over the first guideline and under the second
guideline.
7. Place piece E over the first guideline and under the second
guideline.
8. Place piece F over the first guideline and under the second
guideline.
9. Remove tape, and pull all strands in the directions of the
arrows. The
first stitch is now complete.
10. To lace a tornado stitch, fold guideline laces on an angle as
in figure 8 in
zipper pull file, and follow the identical strips to figures 8-10 of the zipper
pull file with the addition of two more ends. To end run lace around
corner, under and up, then lace 2 under and up as
arrows show.
11. Follow with laces 3 and then 4 under and up. Lace 5 around
corner, under
and up. Lace 6 and then 7 under and up. Lace 8 around the corner, under
and up.
12. Tighten knot by using one hand to pull on all eight ends and
the other to
push knot towards the key chain. Trim the loose ends to 1.5 inches.
